Lois H. Nuchols, age 95 of Maryville died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 at Blount Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. She was preceded in death by: husband, Sam D. Nuchols and daughter, Alice Sue Robinson.

Survivors: grandchildren, Rob Robinson and wife, Kathy of Maryville, Janet (Cissi) Parton and husband, Roger of Lenoir City, Sammi Strickland of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Ben Parton of Lenoir City and Lauren Robinson of Maryville; sisters-in-law, Mary Hitch of Maryville and Sara Moser of Powell; son-in-law, Wayne Robinson of Knoxville; nieces, nephew and cousins.

Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at Grandview Cemetery with Dr. John Sharp officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 in the West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville.



Geralene Baker Nuchols
September 23 1939 - July 9, 2003


Nuchols, Geralene Baker age 63 of Powell passed away at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday July 9, 2003 at her home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Gerrie was a member of Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church in Maryville.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rick Easterday; grandson, Brian Easterday; mother, Edith M. Baker; brother, Ray Baker.

Survivors: sons, Scott Easterday of Powell, Todd Easterday and wife Ida of Maryville, Bobby Nuchols and wife Angel of Powell; granddaughter, Charity Faith Nuchols; father, Roy Baker of Knoxville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shelba and Wayne Long of Knoxville, Ganell and Junior Morelock of Knoxville, Linda and Ken Johnson of Concord, Arnetta and Charles Boldin of Knoxville, Gail White of Gaston, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Baker and friend Jean Dills of Knoxville, Fred and Connie Baker of Knoxville, Allen and Joann Baker of Sweetwater; several nieces and nephews; care giver, Carolyn.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Lawson and Minister Bonnie Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Byrds Chapel Cemetery.

Wiliam Wesley Nuchols Jr.
July 4 1926 - August 3 2000


NUCHOLS, WILIAM WESLEY, JR. - 74, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, Aug.3, at his residence.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and self employed in the construction industry. Mr. Nuchols was a member of Holston Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Butts Nuchols; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Cheri Nuchols; daughters and sons in law, Peppie and Keith Hickman, Sherry and Jerry Lunsford, and Diane and Joe Brown; brother and sister in law, Bob and SueNuchols; sisters and brother in law, Mabel Burnett, Nancy and Jim Dunlap, and Mary Nelson; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Hubert Troutman officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be; David Burnett, Phil Hickman, Bill Wyatt, John Dupree, Ronnie Rutherford, and Scott Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave.



FRED NUCHOLS
May 24, 2005


Fred Nuchols, age 64 of Maryville died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Barbara Nuchols; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Buddy Menderhall; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2005 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Trent Nuchols and Rev. David Hutsell officiating.

Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2005 at Pecks Memorial Church Cemetery for the interment.

Mrs. Andy (Tenia) Nuchols

NUCHOLS, Mrs. Andy (Tenia), 82, Maryville, died at her home at 11:25 a.m., Saturday.

Survivors:daughters, Mrs. John James, Mrs. Jim Owens, Mrs. Wade Keller, Mrs. Earl Russel, and Miss Hazel Nuchols, all of Maryville; sons, John Nuchols, James Nuchols and Oscar Nuchols, all of Maryville; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was to be at 3 p.m. today at Old Piney Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.



Dallas L. Garland
Dec. 6, 2003


Dallas L. Garland, 91, of Cowen, W.Va., died Dec. 6, 2003, in Salem, Va., following an extended illness.

He was retired from the U.S. military and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He enjoyed gardening and farming, was a member of the Masonic Coral Lodge No. 142 in Okinawa with 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Aloha Shriners, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, and was a 40-year resident of Webster County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rapha Garland; mother, Anna Nuchols Garland; sisters, Jenny Bates, Rose Bennett; brother, James Garland; and companion, Waveline Cox.

He is survived by a son, Joseph Garland of Cowen.



Richard P. Holland
81


Richard P. Holland of Massillon, age 81, devoted husband and father, passed away Saturday morning at the Rose Lane Health Care Center.

He was born in Mansfield to the late Peter and Grace (Nuchols) Holland on January 31, 1924. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1941. Richard joined the Army and fought for our country in WWII. He received an honorable discharge as a Master Sergeant. He earned an engineering degree from the Lincoln Institute, while working at the Ohio Brass.

On November 22, 1947, Richard married the love of his life of 58 years, Mary E. Anderko of Mansfield. Richard started his automotive career at Whitey’s Automall in Mansfield. He founded Dick Holland AMC/Jeep/Mazda in 1969 and then moved from Mansfield to Massillon in 1975 and established Holland Pontiac. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Past President of the Massillon Tiger Touchdown Club, member of the Tiger Booster Club and the Orangemen, he loved his Tigers.

Richard was also a member of the K of C #554, past Grand Knight of the Mansfield K of C #687, Shady Hollow Country Club, Bear Lakes Country Club, Fla., Massillon Museum, Past President of the Auto Dealers Assoc. and the Ohio Dealers Association and Past President of the Sertoma International. He enjoyed auto racing, music and dancing, playing golf, spending time with his family and friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Lula Mae Holland.

He is survived by, wife, Mary E. Holland of Massillon; three daughters, Vicki Uhde of Mansfield, Pamela and Michael Walsh of Canton, Bridget and Mark Eckert of Texas; two sons, Richard and Pamela Holland of Massillon, David and Belynda Holland of Massillon; grandchildren, Sarah Rizzo, Laura Yeager, Justin, Leah, Ellie Walsh, Eddie, Katie, Lindsey Eckert, Ricky, Amanda Holland, Jake, Jared Holland; great-grandchildren Ethan and Julia Rizzo, Emily and Madalynn Yeager; niece, Candy Garrison.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home.

Internment will take place at Massillon Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 4815 Munson St. N.W. Canton, Ohio 44718.



Sudie Bryant Nuchols
October 15, 1915 - December 12, 2006


Sudie Bryant Nuchols, age 91 of Englewood, formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday morning December 12, 2006 at Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah.

Preceded in death by son, Mickey Bryant; husbands, Cecil Bryant, James Nuchols; brothers, Homer, John, Bill, and Tom Matlock; sister, Martha Cogburn.

Survivors, step son and wife, James and Alice Nuchols of Englewood; several other step children , four grandchildren, several step grandchildren, sisters, Ivory Gipson of Maryville, Mary Brown of Chattanooga, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at Zion Chapel Cemetery at 1:00 PM Thursday December 14, 2006 for graveside service and interment, Rev. Ben Ward officiating.

CHARLES ROBERT THOMAS

Charles Robert Thomas, age 65, of Maryville, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at his home.

He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend. He was active with Maryville College Alumni, captain of the 1963-64 football team and inducted to Maryville College's Wall of Fame where he was currently serving as a board member. He was a lifelong farmer and an avid golfer. He retired from Rohm & Haas Company, of Knoxville, with 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, French Thomas Kidd, and his uncle, J. Marion Nuchols.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda Edwards Thomas; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Charles and Datha Thomas, of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Kerma and Michael Headrick, of Maryville; five grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" Thomas, Lindsay Thomas, Leah Thomas, Thomas Headrick and Sarah Headrick; sister, Carolyn Thomas Bair; two nieces, Kelly Smith and Kathy Keeney, all of Penn.; aunt and uncle, Lorean and Raymond Handley, of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, William C. and Lynn Edwards; special cousin, David Nuchols and wife, Jo Dean Nuchols.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, W. Leonard Swiney, and Charles Kenneth Nuchols; son, Rickey Swiney; parents, William Golden and Georgie Marie Wright Henshaw; brother, Frank Henshaw; sisters, Francis Reed and Brenda Dyer.

Master Sgt. Sidney Eugene Nuchols, age 73 of Calhoun, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. from the graveside at Haven of Rest Memorial Park cemetery with full military honors being accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and Rev. Eddie Brannon conducting the graveside service.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 6-9 p.m.

Dorothy "Bea" Nuchols, 73, died Friday at Hemet Valley Medical Center.

The cause of death is undetermined pending a doctor's report.

No services are planned. Inurnment will be private. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Nuchols, who was born in Riverside, lived in Hemet 25 years. She was an instructor for 25 years with the Riverside County Probation Department.

Tommy A. Nuchols , 76, of 809 Dixiana Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at his home.
He was born March 1, 1930 to the late Jim and Nora Hodge Nuchols in Maryville, TN. He retired from painters Local # 456 after working at TVA for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and attended Owensboro Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jean Nuchols; his daughters, Donna Risley and her husband, Gary, of Owensboro, Karen Jones and her husband, Stuart of College Park, GA, Earlene Schindler and her husband, Kenny of Owensboro, Evelyn Silfee and her husband, Everett of Dover, PA; eight grandchildren, Amy and Troy Risley and his wife, Kara, Allyson and Evan Jones, Heather Fulkerson, Holly Bishop, Meicka Cable, Amanda Carter and her husband, Jonathan; six great-grandchildren, his brother, James Earl Nuchols and his wife, Alice of Maryville, TN; six sisters, Helen Nichols, Ruth Mitchell and her husband, Harold, Katherine Flanagan and her husband, John, Mary Lee McCulloch and her husband, Bob, Eva Mae Hatcher and Barbara Bridges and her husband, Gary, all of Maryville, TN; an aunt, Gertie Keller, several nieces and nephews.

Rebecca Marie Nuchols


Rebecca Marie Nuchols, 20, and infant daughter Kaley Marie, died Saturday, May 15, 2004.

She was a graduate of Seymour High School and employed by Adventure Group, of Sevierville. She was a member of the former Miracle Baptist Church on West Ford Valley Road.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Robert and Tracy Campbell; father, John Nuchols; sisters, Emily and Abigail Campbell; brother, Kevin Campbell; grandmothers, Doris Solomon and Phyllis Parm; grandfather, Alvin Campbell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday May, 17, 2004, at Berry Funeral Home with Pastor David Jeffers officiating. Family and friends met at Highland South Cemetery Tuesday for a graveside service. Family received friends Monday.
