For Margaret, her greatest joy was found in selfless service to her family, church and friends. Visitors to Margaret's (Mamaw's) home were always lavished with gracious hospitality. Margaret had many talents and was a licensed beautician, an excellent cook and master gardener. She dearly loved to take friends on garden walks, freely sharing her knowledge of flowers, herbs, and vegetables in her many plant and water gardens. Family and friends always departed a visit with Margaret by taking home fresh vegetables, a homemade preserve, or a beautiful plant for their own garden. Margaret was a faithful member where her husband served as a deacon at Beech Grove Baptist Church. For the past 3 years since her move to Chattanooga Margaret was loved and adopted by the Morris Hill Baptist Church family.

She was born 16 Sep 1926 in Sweetwater, Monroe County, Tennessee, and died 4 Feb 2003 in Englewood, mcMinn County, Tennessee. Mina was buried in McMinn Memory Gardens, Englewood, McMinn County, Tennessee. Horace was held P.O.W. in Germany for six months after his plane was shot down during WWII. He later worked in the field of aviation, retiring as Flight Engineer for Zantop International Airlines of Michigan. He and his wife returned to Tennessee, and live on a farm near Englewood.
