Jo Ann worked for the telephone company. Ralph was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having honorably served both during and after the Korean War. In the early 1960's, he operated Airport Phillips 66 Service Station. He was retired from the Aluminum Company of America (Tennessee Operations) and a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club. Ralph enjoyed farming both before and after his retirement from ALCOA. He was a member of Foothills Antique Tractor and Engine Club for a number of years. Ralph was a charter member of the Cades Cove Preservation Association. He often volunteered his time helping his sons and their friends when they were young with Boy Scouts and Little League Baseball activities. Ralph will always be remembered for his good-natured wit and willingness to help others.

346. Michael Charles White

b. 10 May 1941 in Blount County, Tennessee. He died 6 Feb 2003 in Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee, and was buried in Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee. Michael married 26 Nov 1965, Susan Lyell. "Coach" White was a former Blount County Commissioner and member of the Maryville Church of Christ. He was also retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard 134th Refueling Unit. Most notably, however, Coach White is remembered for his many years of service as an educator in the Blount County schools system. He served the community as a teacher and coach at Townsend, Everett, Walland and William Blount High Schools. He spent most of those years coaching football and baseball and in more recent times has a brief tenure as the golf coach at Heritage High School while teaching physical education at a number of elementary schools. Coach White also spent 3 years as the head football coach at Unicoi County High School in Erwin, Tennessee and was an assistant coach at Maryville College for 8 years.
